Arlito Cuco
Managing Director

Arlito is a Mozambican forester with 40 years of experience in the public and private forestry sectors. His background is in forestry, forest policy processes and natural resource planning, including stakeholder engagement. During the last 15 years, he has been active in the development of reforestation activities in the northern part of Mozambique. His previous experience in the public sector improved his knowledge and understanding of the international, regional and national dialogue on forestry, as well as his abilities in participatory approaches and methods. His previous experience associated with the skills gained during the last 15 years in development of large-scale reforestation initiatives, makes us feel confident that he will lead the team to undertake the responsibilities required for the development of our ARR project in Nampula province.

He holds a BSc in Forest Engineering from Eduardo Mondlane University (1984), an MSc in Forest Economics from the University of Helsinki (1991) and an ADP in Strategic Business Leadership from University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2015).

William Prado
Director & Operational Manager

William has more than 25 years of experience in Latin America and Africa in Afforestation, Reforestation and Restoration projects. During the last ten years, he led in-field operations for the development of a large-scale private commercial reforestation program in the Niassa province. His background includes seedling production, land preparation, planting, silviculture treatment, forest maintenance and protection against forest fires, pests and disease, harvesting, industrial (pole treatment, sawmill) using the best practice on sustainable forest management.

His educational background is in field Forestry, from Guatemala, Agriculture technician (fruit and nuts trees) and Forestry Engineering from Rafael Landivar University (Professional Register Guatemala No 3,689).

Samuel Matos
Planning Manager

Samuel has over 12 years of experience in the planning and development of forest plantations in Mozambique. His background includes forest mapping, inventory and data collection, spatial analysis, and operational planning, using tools such as ArcGIS, Microforest, and drone aerial surveys. He has also served as a Research Assistant, managing Eucalyptus progeny and genetic trials to support forest improvement programs.

Samuel holds a BSc in Forest Engineering from Lúrio University (2013).
